A propagação do cafeeiro é feita de duas formas: sexuada, que se baseia no uso de sementes, e assexuada, baseada no uso de estruturas vegetativas das plantas, a exemplo do uso das estacas, ou pedaços de seus ramos. No Acre, o processo usual de propagação do cafeeiro, tanto da espécie arabica como canephora, é por semente. Embora a Embrapa já tenha difundido a produção vegetativa por meio de estaca para o café Conilon, da espécie canephora, ainda são poucos os produtores que utilizam esta técnica. Este trabalho trata destas duas formas de produção de mudas de café. |

Abstract Fig tree (Ficus carica L.) stands out due to its range of cultivation and easy adaptation to diverse edaphoclimatic conditions. The present study was carried in order to evaluate the effect of saline water irrigation with electrical conductivity (ECw) of 0.5; 1.5; 3.0; 4.5 and 6.0 dS m-1, on germination and some growth variables during the seedling formation process of four guava cultivars (Psidium guajava L.): Pentecoste, Paluma, Surubim and IPA B-38. Water salinity inhibited the germination process, plant height, stem diameter, leaf area and dry matter production of roots, stems and leaves, independently of cultivar. After germination, the seedlings did not survive due to saline water effects of ECw 4.5 and 6.0 dS m-1. The baru (Dipteryx alata Vog.) is a native species of Brazilian cerrado, and has been widely used in reforestation, medicine, and food industry. The effects of shading levels, reflective material, and seeding depth on the growth of baru seedlings were investigated in this study. The seedlings were grown in full sunlight, and in three production nurseries constructed with 18%, 30%, and 50% shading screens on growing benches coated or not coated with a reflective material (Aluminet®). Plant growth regulators and biostimulants have been used as an agronomic technique to optimize the production of seedlings in various crops.
